Slavná londýnská rocková skupina. B. May (nar. 1947) začínal ve sk. The Others (vyšel 1 singl) a v r. 1967 zakládá sk. Smile (s R. Taylorem a Timem Staffellem - bg, vyšel rovněž 1 singl). V r. 1970 se ke dvojici May - Taylor (nar. 1949) přidává Freddie Mercury, vl. jm. Frederick Bulsara (nar. 1946, předtím zpíval ve sk. Wreckage, Sour Your Milk Sea , Ibex). V r. 1971 se pak připojuje J. Deacon (nar. 1951) a vzniká Queen. Stylově zpočátku pod vlivem Led Zeppelin a glam rocku. (Ještě v r. 1973 vydal Mercury 1 singl pod jm. Larry Lurex.) Queen sklízejí velký úspěch albem „II“ (1974) a ještě větší albem „Sheer Heart Attack“ (1974), obsahujícím hit Killer Queen (ohlas i v USA). V r. 1975 vychází slavný singl Bohemian Rhapsody a významná deska „A Night At The Opera“ (1975). V obou případech to byla špička angl.
